Softball starts Monday, completes WBSC’s four-discipline lineup at SEA Games

Following the conclusion of the South East Asia (SEA) Games Thailand 2025 baseball competition on Friday, the Her Majesty Queen Sirikit 60th Birthday Anniversary Stadium is being transformed into a fully equipped softball field to host the men's and women's softball tournaments from 15 to 19 December. The Baseball5 tournament finishes on Sunday.

Philippines win South East Asia Games Baseball Tournament

The Philippines defeated the hosts, Thailand, in the final to claim their fourth SEA Games baseball gold medal. Indonesia beat Singapore in the bronze-medal game. Men's baseball was the first of four WBSC disciplines on the XXXIII SEA Games programme. The historic Baseball5 debut tournament will end on December 14, men's and women's softball will follow from December 15 to 19.

The two-way standout became the first player to win the Dick Case Award and the Performance of the Year Award. Manager Rick Eckstein won the Dedaux Coach of the Year Award, and pitching coach Brad Penny was honoured with the 'Doc' Counsilman Award for his use of scientific data. The U-12 National Team received Team of the Year honours.
